Introduction
William Gilliam married Mary Jarratt of New Kent County, VA, the daughter of Devereaux Jarratt and Elizabeth Wingfield. William and Mary and their descendants may be found in Albemarle, Amherst, Bedford, and Buckingham Counties, VA. Others settled in Tennessee and Georgia. Several of William and Mary’s sons served in the Revolutionary War and received pensions.
