[In Davis’ Albemarle Parish Vestry Book, 1742-1786 John, Hinchia and William Gilliam are listed as John Hinchia, and William Gilliam, whereas Hinchia is the last name of John. A close reading will show that the John, Hinchia and William Gilliam, infant sons of Hinchea Gilliam, Sr., and Amy Briggs are those who land is being processed. Hinchea Gilliam, Sr., died 23 Feb 1769.]
