In the name of God, Amen, I Mary T. GILLUM of the county of Albemarle and state of Virginia, do hereby make and ordain this my last Will and Testament.

In the first place I give and bequeath unto my Sister Elizabeth Ann GILLUM all of my personal estate of every kind which we now hold as joint partners, including all the slaves. I also give to my sister above named, my half of the fifty acres of land that we last purchased from our father Pleasant GILLUM and one half of my interest in the tract whereon we now reside containing about one hundred and seventy-five acres which is embraced in the first deed from our father Pleasant GILLUM to myself, my sister, Elizabeth, and my brother John P. GILLUM. The other half of my interest or estate in this last mentioned tract I hereby give to my brother John P. GILLUM, to him and their heirs and assigns forever, but upon this consideration however as to my brother John P. GILLUM, that is if upon any future division of this last mentioned tract of land, that it shall be so divided that my sister Elizabeth shall retain the house, attached thereto with ____ and additional value on the land on which the said dwelling house may stand.

I also give to my cousin Dr. Pleasants G. GILLUM a gold ring which my grandmother once owned.

I desire that our negro woman Rose shall be well treated so long as she may live for her great kindness and attention paid to us by her when we are sick. I leave and desire that my father Pleasant GILLUM be well taken care of and provided for during his natural life. I do hereby constitute and appoint my sister Elizabeth A. to this my last will and testament execution.

[Mary is the daughter of Pleasant Gillum of Mecham's River, Saint Anne's Parish, and Polly Petty. Mary's grandmother, Mary, was the widow of Mr. Woodfolk. Dr. Pleasants G. GILLUM is the son of Mary's uncle, James GILLUM. It is not known what became of sister Elizabeth Ann. She is not found in the household of her father and brother in the 1850 Census.]
